The million dollar question…

What the heck are you doing??

I have received a few comments about the cover of Dirty Nails. People are curious to know how different this book will be from my others. As you know, I love to write NA and Contemporary romance. It’s my thing. They’re my favorite genres to write because of the prominent love stories. Dirty Nails is total opposite of what I’m used to. I don’t plan on sticking with the dark romantic suspense/erotica. I just wanted to step out of my box and see where it takes me. I spoke to someone not long ago who told me that if you love to write then you can write anything. I don’t know how true that is, but the same person told me that I should push myself to see how far I could go. Am I born to be a writer? I don’t know. But it’s what I love to do.

So, what the heck am I doing? That’s the million dollar question. I am stepping out of my box. I am writing things that I never thought I could or would. Sex is my least favorite thing to write about. Sometimes I cringe when I get to a scene where they have to be intimate. Dirty Nails has a lot of sex and it’s dark enough that people will probably think I’m a borderline nut job. That’s okay. I’m proving something to myself and telling an amazing story in the process. It turns out that the words are pouring out, and I found myself loving every minute of this book. It’s not always about the content of the story, it’s about how well you can tell it. Dirty Nails is dark and dirty and nothing like my normal work. It won’t be for everyone, and there will be people who hate it I’m sure. There always is. But it’s a personal goal of mine to finish it all the way through and prove to myself that I am a story teller, and no matter how dark or crazy the story, I can do it. I will do it.

I wanted to warn my readers that this book is not what you would expect from me, but then again it is. There will always be love. Just this time the story is a lot darker. I am broadening my horizons, and loving every minute of it.

Dirty Nails was scheduled to release on Feb. 3rd, but I have since picked up the pace and I am expecting to release towards the end of January. Fingers crossed.

P.S. I will share the first chapter here on my blog so that people can get a little taste of what to expect. Then they can decide for themselves if they want to read the story or not.

Also, I know some of you have asked what is coming next after Dirty Nails. My plan is to return to I am free. I put that story aside because I was struggling with it, but I have been itching to get back to it. It is a NA romance and now that I have got my mojo back, I feel like that story will be ready to be told and I can’t wait.

You have an incredible talent and i’m sure the deviation from your usual style will actually help to enhance anything you write thereafter!
